Abstract
The analysis of the Policy Advisory System (PAS) has garnered significant academicinterest, focusing on its policy influence, institutional proximity, content quality, analytical autonomy, and policy capacity. The PAS literature highlights shifts ininstitutional characteristics like externalization, politicization, mediatization, andscientization. This study examines the role of policy advisory systems in the Iran-USnuclear issue, showcasing the involvement of the US think tank-based system inproviding policy solutions and implementation. It contrasts this with the Iranianforeign policy advisory system, which faced challenges due to over-securitization andlimited involvement of diverse institutions. The study argues that the US system'sover-politicization led to instability in foreign policy, while the Iranian systemdisplayed more resilience and consistency. Overall, this research contributes to PASliterature by analyzing a timely case study and proposing theoretical propositions in anunderstudied policy context
